A good way to monitor FPS in Metro Exodus is by overlaying the display over your game. How you do it depends on what graphics card you are using.

If you are using NVIDIA graphics cards, you will need the GeForce Experience app to overlay FPS stats over your game. Once you have the app installed:

• Launch the GeForce Experience app
• Click the settings gear icon to the top right
• Go to In-Game Overlay and press settings
• Navigate to HUD display
• Select the FPS counter

Using MSI Afterburner

MSI Afterburner is a great way to check your FPS and other statistics when playing a game. Grab and install the latest copy of the software from the official MSI website and launch it.

• Click the settings button in the bottom right section of MSI Afterburner
• Select the Monitoring tab in the ensuing menu
• Find Framerate in the list of Active Hardware Monitoring Graphs list and enable it
• Once you select it and it is highlighted, check the options in the bottom section of the dialog box and tick the box with ‘ Show in On-Screen Display
• Hit OK and you are good to go.

The railcar is notoriously tiny and hard to get out of.

The controls for getting out of the railcar are simple depending on your gaming platform:

• Double tap X
• Double tap Square
• Double tap E

However, this might not always work even when everything seems clear. Since the opening is so small, a nearby wall or any obstruction can easily keep you from exiting the car.

If you try the double tap and Artyom doesn’t hope out, move a couple of feet backwards to get some clearance and try again.

How to Clean Weapons in Metro Exodus

• First, find a workbench. They are normally found in safehouses or on the train
• Enter the workbench then select the weapons section
• Choose a weapon to clean. An orange brush bar will tell you how dirty the weapon is
• If a weapon is all dirty, you will see a ‘Clean’ button. Press and hold the button to clean your weapon

Since you cannot clean a weapon when out in the field, it is wise to clean every time you see a workbench. The good news is it doesn’t cost you anything to clean any weapon on your inventory – just the time.
